Hastelloy B2 square plate is a nickel-molybdenum alloy (Ni-Mo). It is famous for its excellent resistance to corrosion in reducing media. Hastelloy B2 square plate is made into a flat, rectangular shape by hot rolling or cold rolling. It has precise dimensions and a smooth surface. This makes it easy to machine and install.
The typical composition of Hastelloy B2 square plate is about 65% nickel (Ni) and about 28% molybdenum (Mo). It also has a small amount of iron (Fe) and chromium (Cr). It has almost no copper (Cu) or tungsten (W). It is suitable for strong reducing acid environments.
Hastelloy B2 square plate is widely used in chemical (reactors, pipes), pharmaceutical (acid treatment equipment), environmental (waste gas scrubbers), and nuclear fuel processing fields. It can resist corrosion from reducing media like hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid. It can be used in high-temperature environments below 400°C. However, it should avoid oxidative conditions. During processing, welding and cutting should be carefully controlled to ensure performance.
