Standards and Acceptance Criteria
1. Core Performance Standards
Our tungsten-copper alloy products are manufactured and inspected in strict accordance with the following key international standards to ensure their global compatibility and interchangeability:
ASTM B702 - Standard Specification for Copper-Tungsten Electrical Contact Materials
ISO 18647 - Sintered Metal Materials — Specifications
We also support production and supply according to DIN, JIS, GB, and customer-specific corporate standards.
2. Precise Chemical Composition and Physical Properties
We promise and verify that each batch of material meets the agreed-upon technical specifications, providing clear and traceable data:
Chemical composition: Strictly controlled according to standards or your specified limits, and a full elemental spectral analysis report is provided.
Physical properties: Ensuring that key performance parameters meet the requirements, including but not limited to: density (typically > 98% of theoretical value), electrical conductivity (IACS % value can be provided), hardness (HRB/HV), thermal conductivity (test data provided upon request).
3. Flexible Acceptance and Verification Solutions
To meet your diverse quality control processes, we offer two convenient verification paths to ensure your complete confidence in material performance:
Option A: Sample Testing: Before mass production, we provide you with representative material samples and complete third-party testing reports for your prior verification.
Option B: Testing on Production Parts: Samples are drawn from your production batch at an agreed-upon ratio, and can be sent to a mutually agreed-upon laboratory for independent testing according to your requirements, ensuring that the incoming materials meet the agreed-upon standards.
WCu Product Forms & Machining
We are committed to being your end-to-end tungsten-copper alloy solutions partner, providing not only standard semi-finished products but also possessing the full-process capabilities to manufacture final precision components, ensuring you receive finished products ready for assembly or use.
1. Supply Forms
We offer a wide range of semi-finished product forms to match your diverse design and procurement needs:
Basic Profiles: Plates/sheets, rods/bars, and blocks. Standard tolerances, suitable as high-quality blanks for your own processing.
Pre-formed Parts: Tubes, various standard electrodes, electrical contact pieces, conductive wheels, and heat sink substrates. Pre-processed according to common specifications to help you shorten lead times.
Custom-made Parts: High-precision "finished parts" delivered entirely according to your 2D drawings or 3D models.
2. Precision Machining Capabilities
We possess comprehensive secondary processing and surface treatment capabilities to ensure components meet the physical and functional requirements of their final applications:
Forming Processes: CNC milling and turning, precision grinding, wire EDM, drilling, and threading.
Surface Treatment:
Functional Coatings: We offer options such as silver plating (for optimal conductivity) and nickel plating (for good corrosion resistance and weldability) to enhance specific performance characteristics.
Finishing: Surface roughness can routinely reach Ra 0.8μm, and further polishing to a mirror finish is available upon request.
3. Tolerances and Quality Commitment
We understand the critical impact of precision on your product performance and are committed to meeting your technical requirements:
Dimensional Tolerances: We can achieve ISO 2768-mK level or higher precision, with tighter controls on critical dimensions as required by the drawings.
Delivery Status: We offer flexible delivery options, from providing semi-finished products conforming to material standards to "finished parts" complete with all machining, inspection, and comprehensive quality documentation.
Core Process Route and Performance Control
We utilize mature process routes—infiltration and liquid-phase sintering—that have been proven through extensive industrial validation, and we implement precise control based on the product's final application scenario. This ensures that performance targets are achieved from the very source of material preparation, rather than simply providing theoretical materials.
1. Dominant Process Routes and Quality Control
Infiltration Method: This method enables the preparation of near-fully dense, high-copper content products, particularly suitable for applications requiring extremely high conductivity/thermal conductivity consistency. We ensure uniform microstructure by precisely controlling the copper infiltration channels and temperature field.
Liquid Phase Sintering Method: For products with complex shapes or specific compositional requirements, this process achieves excellent formability. By optimizing the sintering atmosphere and temperature curve, we actively control the final density and grain structure.
2. Key Controllable Performance Indicators
Our core process control consistently focuses on four dimensions that directly impact your product reliability:
Density: Regularly guaranteed >98.5%, and can reach >99.5% through process optimization. This is the foundation for achieving stable electrical and thermal performance.
Microstructure Uniformity: Ensuring uniform distribution of the tungsten framework and copper phase is fundamental to material performance consistency and batch stability.
Electrical/Thermal Conductivity: Through process control, we ensure that the electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity of the product reach more than 90% of the theoretical optimum value for the material.
Machinability: Optimized processes create a consistent internal stress state and microstructure in the material, making subsequent precision machining such as CNC and grinding more stable and efficient.
3. Recommended Process Selection for Specific Applications
We not only manufacture materials but also provide professional process path selection for your applications:
For EDM long rods/fine electrodes: We recommend and utilize a high-density + high-uniformity process scheme to ensure dimensional stability and low wear rate of the electrodes during deep-hole and long-duration electrical discharge machining.
For high-current electrical contacts: The focus of the process is on improving the material's resistance to arc erosion and welding. By optimizing the copper phase distribution and interface bonding, our contacts have a longer electrical lifespan.
For semiconductor/laser heat sinks: The core of the process lies in precisely controlling the thermal expansion coefficient window and batch consistency of thermal conductivity to ensure reliable matching with the chip or casing and stable heat dissipation performance.
