Seam welding is a kind of resistance welding. It is a welding method in which the workpiece group is formed into a lap joint or butt joint, and then placed between two roller electrodes. The roller electrodes press the welds and rotate, and are continuously or intermittently electrified to form a continuous weld.
WCu Alloy Seam Welding Wheels are the most commonly used electrode material for seam welding. They have the characteristics of high heat dissipation, strong welding ability, high temperature strength, excellent wear resistance, high weld quality and long service life. WCu Alloy Seam Welding Wheels are widely used to weld oil drums, radiators, aircraft and automotive fuel tanks, surface repair of PCD tools, and sheet welding of sealed containers in jet engines, rockets, and missiles.
Feature of WCu Alloy Seam Welding Wheels
1. Lasting and durable. The WCu alloy has a welding decay temperature above 2000 degrees Celsius (C), and maintains structural stability-eta copper has a supercoarse grain growth rate of 95 percent less than pure copper which gives it a lifespan 15 times more than traditional materials.
2. The alloy has a weakening WCu comprising 0.001mm/a in 5 percent sodium chloride plus 0.5 mol/l sulphuric acid which is 3 times more than that of 316L stainless steel showcasing it's powerful corrosion resistance.
3. High wear resistance. Relative to traditional alloys, the friction coefficient of 0.32 reduced to 0.08. Additionally, the wear of the rear wheel rim spin-welded for 10,000 meters without lubrication is less than 0.05 millimeters which is 15 times greater than the traditional electroplating hard chrome layer.

Application Of WCu Alloy Seam Welding Wheels
1. Welding of food packaging containers. Used for the sealing and welding of food containers (cans of iron and tinplate) as well as forms effective fusion of metal sheets processes through rolling, while ensuring the sealing of the container and prolonging the inflow of food into the container.
2. Manufacturing of household metal products. Adopted in welding of day-to-day metal products like: Heat exchangers, radiators and automobile fuel tanks to ensure structural strength, corrosion resistance, and long-term use durability.
3. Lightweight structural components assembly. Involves thin plate welding of light metals, for example, aluminum alloy and titanium alloy, in the automotive and aerospace industry to facilitate performace improvement while keeping the equipment lightweight.
