Products Description
TZM is titanium zirconium molybdenum Alloy, this alloyed version of molybdenum provides enhanced strenght at elevated temperatures and is excellent for support structures in vacuum furnaces or other high temperatuer and oxygen free environments.
The TZM Bolt (Titanium-Zirconium-Molybdenum Bolt) is a high-performance, high-temperature alloy bolt custom-made from TZM alloy. It is primarily manufactured using powder metallurgy with a purity exceeding 99.5%. TZM alloy is a molybdenum-based material enhanced with titanium (0.4%-0.6%), zirconium (0.08%-0.12%), and a small amount of carbon (0.01%-0.04%). While similar in appearance to regular bolts, TZM Bolt offers superior high-temperature performance and corrosion resistance compared to standard fasteners.
Titanium zirconium molybdenum (TZM) bolt is produced by powder metallurgy and the purity level is more than 99.95%.
TZM Specifications: UNS R03630, ASTM B384, ASTM B385, ASTM B386, ASTM B387
features
High-Temperature Performance
TZM alloy has an extremely high melting point of 2610°C and can work long-term in high-temperature environments between 1200°C and 1800°C. Its high-temperature tensile strength is much better than pure molybdenum-for example, it is 30%-50% stronger at 1500°C. Additionally, TZM's recrystallization temperature is about 1400°C, roughly 400°C higher than pure molybdenum.
Corrosion Resistance
TZM alloy resists corrosion well in molten metals (such as copper and aluminum) and non-oxidizing atmospheres (like H₂ and Ar). It can also withstand corrosion from liquid metals like zinc.
Mechanical Properties
TZM alloy has high strength, a high elastic modulus, and a low thermal expansion coefficient. At room temperature, its tensile strength can exceed 900MPa, with an elongation rate of over 20%.
Machining & Welding Performance
TZM alloy can be cold-worked using standard methods. With proper cooling lubricants, it can be machined using carbide or high-speed steel tools. It also welds well and can form strong bonds with materials like H11 steel.
Application
Electronics Industry
TZM alloy is used to make key electronic parts like tube cathodes, grids, high-voltage rectifiers, and thin-film integrated circuits.
Nuclear Energy Applications
In nuclear power equipment, TZM alloy works well for radiation shields, support frames, heat exchangers, and guide rails.
Glass Manufacturing
TZM alloy is ideal for stirrer shafts in glass furnaces. It can operate non-stop in molten glass at 1150°C-1250°C for long periods.
Metal Hot-Working Tools
The alloy makes excellent die-casting molds, hot-extrusion tools, and piercing plugs for seamless steel tube production.

FAQ
Are you a factory or manufacturer?
A: Yes, we are a factory but we generally use our trading company to handle the business abroad. It will be more convenient to receive the remittance and arrange the shipment.
What is the delivery method?
A: Generally, we send cargo by UPS, DHL or FedEx. Also, we can send by sea to seaport or by air to the closest airport.
Why is your product so cost-effective?
A: We cut out the middlemen in the end-to-end manufacturing process and we obtain raw material directly from its source.
Do you do spot quality inspection or full inspection?
A: 100% full inspection for sure. All unqualified products are discarded.
How do you ensure your lead time?
A: From material preparation to machining and finally to a full inspection. Every stage of production is strictly monitored and controlled to give you an accurate delivery time.
What is the MOQ of TZM Bolt ?
A: Depends on quantity, generally, no MOQ limit.
How to pay for it?
A: A bank transfer (T/T) will be acceptable.
What is the delivery time?
A: around 7-20 days which depends on the quantity and production.
What is kind of the package?
A: Generally, we use a carton case or plywood case with protective material inside to ensure the save of cargo
What is the lead time?
A: from order placed to cargo receiving will take around 10-25 days.
What is a TZM Bolt?
A TZM Bolt is a high-performance fastener made from TZM alloy (Titanium-Zirconium-Molybdenum). It offers excellent strength and durability in extreme heat and corrosive environments.
What makes TZM Bolts special?
They can withstand temperatures up to 1800°C (3272°F), resist corrosion, and maintain strength better than regular molybdenum or steel bolts.
Where are TZM Bolts commonly used?
High-temperature industrial equipment
Aerospace and aviation systems
Nuclear reactors and radiation shielding
Glass manufacturing furnaces
Metal casting and hot-formin
How strong are TZM Bolts?
At room temperature, they have tensile strength over 900 MPa (similar to high-grade steel), and keep significant strength even at 1500°C.
Can TZM Bolts be machined or welded?
Yes, they can be:
Machined using carbide tools with coolant
Welded to compatible materials like H11 steel
Cold-worked for precise shaping
Do TZM Bolts rust or corrode?
They resist:
Molten metals (aluminum, copper, zinc)
Hydrogen and argon atmospheres
Many corrosive industrial chemicals
What's the difference between TZM and pure molybdenum bolts?
TZM Bolts are 30-50% stronger at high temperatures and have 400°C higher heat resistance before weakening.
How long do TZM Bolts last in high heat?
They can operate continuously for years in 1200-1800°C environments where standard bolts would fail quickly.
Are TZM Bolts brittle?
No, they maintain good ductility (over 20% elongation) while being stronger than most high-temperature alloys.
10. Where can I get TZM Bolts?
