Description of Surgical Titanium Rods

Surgical Titanium Rods are often produced using powder metallurgy technology. They are lightweight, which reduces the burden on patients' bodies, and can withstand corrosive environments within the human body. They are also non-magnetic and can operate normally under magnetic field interference, leading to longer lifespan and reduced costs of frequent implant replacements. Moreover, they have high cost-performance ratios.

Features of Surgical Titanium Rods

1. Excellent biocompatibility
Non-toxic and non-sensitizing: It complies with ISO 5832-2 (pure titanium) and ASTM F136 (TC4 ELI) standards and has no rejection reaction with human tissue.

Strong bone integration ability: A bioactive oxide layer (TiO₂) can be formed on the surface to promote bone growth and fusion.

2. Corrosion resistance and long-term stability
Resistant to body fluids (blood, tissue fluid), disinfectants (such as alcohol, ethylene oxide), and no risk of ion precipitation.

No need to remove it again after implantation (stainless steel implants may need to be replaced).

3. Lightweight and non-magnetic
The density (4.5 g/cm³) is only 60% of that of stainless steel, reducing the burden on patients.

MRI compatible: No magnetic artifacts, no impact on postoperative imaging examinations.

Applications of Surgical Titanium Rods

Artificial joints: hip stems, knee joints, etc., have high fatigue strength.
Orthopedic repair: bone plates, screws, bending strength ≥ 800 MPa, avoid stress shielding.
Dental implants: surface microporous treatment (pore size 200-500μm) to promote bone ingrowth.
Neurosurgery instruments: non-magnetic properties (MRI compatibility).
