Manufacturing Process of TC4 Titanium Bar for Aviation


Melting: three vacuum arc melting (VAR) to ensure low impurities.
Thermomechanical processing:
Forging: β phase forging (1050℃±10℃), forging ratio>6, grain refinement to ASTM 8-10 grade.
Rolling: hot rolling, cold rolling, size range Φ5-200 mm, wall thickness 0.5-25 mm.
Heat treatment: 650℃ vacuum annealing to optimize grain size and residual stress.

High strength and light weight

Tensile strength can reach more than 900 MPa, density is only 4.43 g/cm³, specific strength (strength/density) is much higher than steel and aluminum alloy, which can significantly reduce the weight of aircraft structure.

Excellent corrosion resistance

Performs well in humid, salt spray, and acidic environments; no additional anti-corrosion coating is required, suitable for harsh environments (such as marine climates).

Stable high temperature performance

Long-term working temperature can reach 400°C (short-term 500°C), suitable for high-temperature components such as engines.

Good fatigue resistance and fracture toughness

Strong crack propagation resistance, suitable for aviation structural parts subjected to alternating loads.
