Our cobalt-chromium target is a target material obtained by melting cobalt and chromium as raw materials. Cobalt-chromium has a very high specific strength and is often used in gas turbines, dental implants and orthopedic implants. CoCr target has high corrosion resistance due to the spontaneous formation of a protective passivation film composed mainly of Cr2O3 and a small amount of cobalt and other metal oxides. In addition, CoCr alloys have good biocompatibility.
The hardness of CoCr alloy targets varies from 550-800MPa, and the tensile strength varies from 145-270MPa. Due to the advantages of high corrosion resistance and wear resistance of CoCr alloy targets, CoCr alloys (such as Stellite) are used to manufacture wind turbines, engine components and many other industrial/mechanical components that require high wear resistance.
CoCr alloys are also very commonly used in the fashion industry to make jewelry, especially wedding rings. The coatings deposited by CoCrMo, CoCrW, CoCrTa and CoCr-X series alloy targets are either corrosion-resistant, wear-resistant or have good soft magnetic properties.
