Inconel is a nickel-chromium alloy used for applications that require corrosion and high temperature resistance. This nickel alloy was designed for service temperatures from cryogenic to elevated temperatures in the range of 2000°F. It is non-magnetic, has excellent mechanical properties, and presents the desirable combination of high strength and good weldability under a wide range of temperatures.
The high nickel content in Inconel 600 enables it to retain considerable resistance under reducing conditions, makes it resistant to corrosion by a number of organic and inorganic compounds, gives it excellent resistance to chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking and also provides excellent resistance to alkaline solutions. Typical applications of this nickel alloy include the chemical, pulp and paper, aerospace, nuclear engineering and heat treating industries.

Features of inconel 625 pipe
1. Corrosion Resistance: Inconel 625 pipes exhibit excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and intergranular attack in many, if not all, surroundings containing high chloride ion concentrations.
2. Oxidation Resistance: The oxidation resistance for Inconel 625 pipe is as high as 1800°F (982°C), and it can be used in conditions of carburization and nitriding.
3. Strength: Owing to their nickel-based composition, Inconel 625 pipes have high tensile strength at high-temperature applications.
4. Fabricability: Though difficult to machine Inconel 625, it is weldable, and because of this property, it can be fabricated in various shapes, dimensions, and forms.
5. Resistance to heat: A pipe made from such alloy has the resistance to hold strength and shape and does not soften, particularly under conditions of high-temperature service. The Inconel 625 pipes are available in several forms like welded and seamless, with schedules of wall thickness for the different needs. They are available in normal size and can also be made to order in special projects.
