Products Description
TZM alloy (Titanium Zirconium Molybdenum Alloy) has a higher recrystallization temperature and higher strength and hardness than pure molybdenum at high temperatures. TZM alloy (Titanium Zirconium Molybdenum Alloy) is suitable for hot work because of its combination of high temperature, high hardness, good thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion of hot working steel.
It is widely used in aerospace, nuclear equipment, and metalworking tools. It is also used in high-temperature furnace structures, electronic components, and glass processing. This material is ideal for making high-temperature parts and high-performance tools.
features
Excellent High-Temperature Performance:
TZM alloy has a melting point of 2610°C and can work long-term at 1200°C–1800°C. Its recrystallization temperature is about 1400°C, much higher than pure molybdenum (1000°C). At high temperatures, TZM is much stronger than pure molybdenum-for example, 30%-50% stronger at 1500°C.
High Mechanical Strength:
TZM alloy has high strength, high elastic modulus, and good creep resistance. It performs well under long-term thermal stress due to its excellent high-temperature tensile and creep strength.
Good Corrosion Resistance:
TZM alloy resists molten metals (like copper and aluminum), non-oxidizing atmospheres (H₂, Ar), and some acids and alkalis.
Excellent Workability:
TZM alloy can be welded using electron beam or argon arc welding, but preheating to 800°C is needed to avoid cracking. It can also be cold-worked using standard methods.

Application
High-Temperature Structural Material:
TZM alloy is widely used to make high-temperature furnace walls, heat shields for hot isostatic presses, and other high-heat structural parts.
Metalworking Tools:
Thanks to its high-temperature strength and creep resistance, TZM alloy is ideal for die-casting molds, extrusion dies, and seamless stainless steel piercing plugs.
Aerospace Applications:
TZM alloy is used in rocket nozzle liners, injectors, gas ducts, and heat-dissipation panels due to its heat resistance.
Nuclear Equipment:
In nuclear power systems, TZM alloy is used for radiation shields, support frames, and heat exchangers.
Electronics & Electrical Industry:
TZM alloy is suitable for making electron tube cathodes, grids, high-voltage rectifiers, and thin-film integrated circuits.
Glass Processing:
Because it resists molten metal corrosion well, TZM alloy is used for stirrer shafts in glass-melting furnaces.

FAQ
Are you a factory or manufacturer?
A: Yes, we are a factory but we generally use our trading company to handle the business abroad. It will be more convenient to receive the remittance and arrange the shipment.
What is the delivery method?
A: Generally, we send cargo by UPS, DHL or FedEx. Also, we can send by sea to seaport or by air to the closest airport.
Why is your product so cost-effective?
A: We cut out the middlemen in the end-to-end manufacturing process and we obtain raw material directly from its source.
Do you do spot quality inspection or full inspection?
A: 100% full inspection for sure. All unqualified products are discarded.
How do you ensure your lead time?
A: From material preparation to machining and finally to a full inspection. Every stage of production is strictly monitored and controlled to give you an accurate delivery time.
What is the MOQ of TZM Sheet?
A: Depends on quantity, generally, no MOQ limit.
How to pay for it?
A: A bank transfer (T/T) will be acceptable.
What is the delivery time?
A: around 7-20 days which depends on the quantity and production.
What is kind of the package?
A: Generally, we use a carton case or plywood case with protective material inside to ensure the save of cargo
What is the lead time?
A: from order placed to cargo receiving will take around 10-25 days.
What is TZM sheet?
TZM sheet is a molybdenum-based alloy containing small amounts of titanium (Ti), zirconium (Zr), and carbon (C). It offers excellent high-temperature strength, creep resistance, and corrosion resistance.
What are the key properties of TZM sheet?
High melting point (2610°C)
Good strength at 1200°C–1800°C
Better creep resistance than pure molybdenum
Resistant to molten metals and non-oxidizing atmospheres
Can be welded and machined with proper techniques
Where is TZM sheet commonly used?
High-temperature furnaces (heat shields, heating elements)
Aerospace (rocket nozzles, heat shields)
Metal processing (extrusion dies, casting molds)
Nuclear industry (radiation shielding, reactor parts)
Electronics (semiconductor components, electrodes)
Glass manufacturing (stirring rods, furnace parts)
Can TZM sheet be welded?
Yes, but it requires preheating (around 800°C) to prevent cracking. Electron beam welding and argon arc welding are commonly used.
How does TZM compare to pure molybdenum?
Higher recrystallization temperature (~1400°C vs. 1000°C)
30-50% stronger at 1500°C
Better creep and thermal shock resistance
Is TZM sheet corrosion-resistant?
Yes, it resists molten metals (copper, aluminum), hydrogen, argon, and some acids/alkalis. However, it oxidizes in air at high temperatures and may need coating protection.
Can TZM sheet be cold-worked?
Yes, but it is harder than pure molybdenum, so proper tooling and techniques are needed.
What are the limitations of TZM sheet?
Expensive compared to pure molybdenum
Requires protective coatings in oxidizing environments
Needs preheating for welding to avoid cracks
