Products Description

Titanium zirconium-molybdenum screws and nuts are the most basic parts, mainly used as vacuum furnace thermal field components, sapphire thermal field components, and high-temperature resistant parts. TZM nuts are usually used in pairs with TZM screws, mainly to prevent the screws from being overheated and causing the nuts to deform or even melt.

Features: Titanium zirconium-molybdenum screws and nuts are widely used in heavy electrical equipment, high-temperature equipment, and working equipment in harsh environments, because in addition to high temperature resistance, TZM nuts also have a major feature, which is corrosion resistance, which determines that TZM nuts are more widely used.

features

Excellent High-Temperature Performance
TZM alloy has a melting point of 2610°C and can work long-term at 1200°C–1800°C. Its recrystallization temperature is about 1400°C, much higher than pure molybdenum (1000°C). Even at high temperatures, it keeps a fine-grained structure and offers better creep resistance.

High Strength & Corrosion Resistance
At 1500°C, TZM alloy's tensile strength is 30%–50% higher than pure molybdenum. It also resists corrosion well in molten metals (like copper and aluminum) and non-oxidizing atmospheres (such as H₂ and Ar).

Good Machinability
TZM alloy can be made by powder metallurgy or melting and forging. It also allows precision machining, like slow wire cutting and laser processing. Its welding performance is excellent, making it suitable for electron beam or argon arc welding.

Dimensional Stability
TZM alloy has a low thermal expansion coefficient (5.8×10⁻⁶/K), so it maintains good dimensional stability at high temperatures. This makes it ideal for precision parts.

applications

High-Temperature Equipment
TZM screws are widely used in high-temperature equipment like vacuum furnace heating elements and sapphire growth furnace components. These devices need to stay stable and durable under extreme heat, and TZM screws provide reliable fastening thanks to their excellent high-temperature performance.

Aerospace Industry
In aerospace, TZM alloy is used to make high-temperature structural parts such as rocket nozzles, gas ducts, and throat linings. These components face extreme heat and stress, but TZM screws meet the demands with their high strength and creep resistance.

Electronics & Electrical Industry
TZM alloy is also used in electronic devices like cathodes, grids, and high-voltage rectifiers. Its good electrical/thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance make it a promising material for these applications.

Nuclear Industry
In nuclear applications, TZM alloy is used for radiation shields, support frames, and heat exchangers. These parts must operate long-term under high heat and pressure, and TZM screws are an ideal choice due to their heat and corrosion resistance.

FAQ

Are you a factory or manufacturer?

A: Yes, we are a factory but we generally use our trading company to handle the business abroad. It will be more convenient to receive the remittance and arrange the shipment.

What is the delivery method?

A: Generally, we send cargo by UPS, DHL or FedEx. Also, we can send by sea to seaport or by air to the closest airport.

Why is your product so cost-effective?

A: We cut out the middlemen in the end-to-end manufacturing process and we obtain raw material directly from its source.

Do you do spot quality inspection or full inspection?

A: 100% full inspection for sure. All unqualified products are discarded.

How do you ensure your lead time?

A: From material preparation to machining and finally to a full inspection. Every stage of production is strictly monitored and controlled to give you an accurate delivery time.

What is the MOQ of TZM Screw ?

A: Depends on quantity, generally, no MOQ limit.

How to pay for it?

A: A bank transfer (T/T) will be acceptable.

What is the delivery time?

A: around 7-20 days which depends on the quantity and production.

What is kind of the package?

A: Generally, we use a carton case or plywood case with protective material inside to ensure the save of cargo

What is the lead time?

A: from order placed to cargo receiving will take around 10-25 days.

What is a TZM screw?

A TZM screw is a high-performance fastener made from TZM alloy (Titanium-Zirconium-Molybdenum). It offers excellent high-temperature strength, corrosion resistance, and creep resistance, making it ideal for extreme environments.

What are the key properties of TZM screws?

High melting point (2610°C) – Works long-term at 1200°C–1800°C

Stronger than pure molybdenum – 30–50% higher tensile strength at 1500°C

Good corrosion resistance – Resists molten metals (copper, aluminum) and non-oxidizing gases (H₂, Ar)

Stable at high temperatures – Low thermal expansion (5.8×10⁻⁶/K) prevents warping

Machinable & weldable – Can be precision-cut and welded using EB or TIG methods

Where are TZM screws commonly used?

High-temperature furnaces (vacuum/sapphire growth furnaces)

Aerospace & rockets (nozzles, combustion chambers, thrusters)

Electronics (vacuum tube parts, high-power rectifiers)

Nuclear reactors (heat exchangers, shielding components)

Can TZM screws be machined or customized?

Yes, TZM can be wire-cut, laser-cut, or CNC-machined into custom shapes. It also supports electron beam (EB) and TIG welding for assembly.

Are TZM screws brittle?

While molybdenum alloys can be brittle at room temperature, TZM's titanium & zirconium additives improve toughness. Proper handling prevents cracking.

How do TZM screws compare to pure molybdenum fasteners?

Stronger at high temperatures (better creep resistance)

Higher recrystallization temp. (1400°C vs. 1000°C for pure Mo)

More corrosion-resistant in harsh conditions

What are the limitations of TZM screws?

Expensive (due to alloying elements and processing)

Requires protective coating in oxidizing environments (above 600°C)

Not as ductile as steel (needs careful installation)

How should TZM screws be stored and handled?

Keep dry & oil-free to prevent oxidation

Avoid impact or over-tightening (use proper torque)

For extreme environments, anti-oxidation coatings (like silicide) can help
