Products Description

Titanium zirconium molybdenum plate (TZM plate) billet surface was dark brown, and after chemical cleaning shows silver or gray metallic luster. According to customers special requirements, we can provide smooth surface, no cold-lap, no delamination, no cracks, no edge cracks, purities TZM plate. TZM plate is mainly used as furnace parts, vacuum devices, insulated bottles and other high temperature parts.

Titanium zirconium molybdenum plate (TZM) is widely used in electrodes, furnace elements, vacuum evaporation boats, heat shields, vacuum furnaces and furnace molds and accessories. In addition, TZM plate is the raw material for assembly parts in the electronics industry and semiconductor industry. TZM plate is formed by sintering TZM thin plate billets in a medium frequency furnace, hot rolling, annealing, alkali washing, cold rolling, cutting, and flattening. The formed TZM plate has a bright, smooth surface and good reprocessing characteristics.

Features

Excellent High-Temperature Performance:
TZM alloy plates have a melting point as high as 2,610°C and can work long-term in high-temperature environments (1,200°C–1,800°C). Their high-temperature tensile strength is much better than pure molybdenum-30%–50% higher at 1,500°C.

Strong Creep Resistance:
Thanks to the solid-solution strengthening effect of titanium and zirconium, TZM alloy has a recrystallization temperature of up to 1,400°C, much higher than pure molybdenum (~1,000°C). This helps it keep a fine-grained structure under heat, making it ideal for long-term thermal stress.

Good Corrosion Resistance:
It resists molten metals (like copper and aluminum), non-oxidizing atmospheres (such as hydrogen and argon), and some acids and alkalis well.

Excellent Machinability:
TZM alloy welds well and can be bonded effectively with materials like H11 steel. It can also be cold-worked using standard methods. With cooling lubricants, it can be machined using carbide or high-speed steel tools.

Outstanding Physical Properties:
It has a high elastic modulus, low thermal expansion, low vapor pressure, and good electrical and thermal conductivity.

applications

High-Temperature Structural Material:
Used to make furnace walls for high-temperature ovens and heat shields for hot isostatic presses.

High-Temperature Tool Material:
Ideal for die-casting molds and cores for aluminum, copper alloys, cast iron, and steel alloys. Also used in hot extrusion tools for stainless steel and piercing rods for seamless steel tube production.

Glass Industry:
Used in glass melting furnaces for stirrers and flow nozzles, as it withstands high heat and resists corrosion from molten glass.

Nuclear Energy Applications:
Used in radiation shields, support frames, heat exchangers, and rails in nuclear equipment due to its strong radiation resistance and high-temperature performance.

Aerospace Industry:
Used in rocket engine nozzles, throat liners, and gas ducts because of its excellent heat resistance and thermal shock performance.

Electronics & Electrical Industry:
Applied in high-voltage rectifiers, thin-film semiconductor circuits, and electron tube cathodes and grids.

FAQ

Are you a factory or manufacturer?

A: Yes, we are a factory but we generally use our trading company to handle the business abroad. It will be more convenient to receive the remittance and arrange the shipment.

What is the delivery method?

A: Generally, we send cargo by UPS, DHL or FedEx. Also, we can send by sea to seaport or by air to the closest airport.

Why is your product so cost-effective?

A: We cut out the middlemen in the end-to-end manufacturing process and we obtain raw material directly from its source.

Do you do spot quality inspection or full inspection?

A: 100% full inspection for sure. All unqualified products are discarded.

How do you ensure your lead time?

A: From material preparation to machining and finally to a full inspection. Every stage of production is strictly monitored and controlled to give you an accurate delivery time.

What is the MOQ of TZM Plate ?

A: Depends on quantity, generally, no MOQ limit.

How to pay for it?

A: A bank transfer (T/T) will be acceptable.

What is the delivery time?

A: around 7-20 days which depends on the quantity and production.

What is kind of the package?

A: Generally, we use a carton case or plywood case with protective material inside to ensure the save of cargo

What is the lead time?

A: from order placed to cargo receiving will take around 10-25 days.

What is TZM Plate?

TZM plate is a molybdenum-based alloy containing small amounts of Titanium (Ti), Zirconium (Zr), and Carbon (C). It offers higher strength, better creep resistance, and improved high-temperature performance compared to pure molybdenum.

What are the key properties of TZM Plate?

High melting point (2,610°C)

Excellent strength at 1,200–1,800°C

Good creep and recrystallization resistance

Strong corrosion resistance to molten metals & non-oxidizing gases

Good machinability and weldability

Where is TZM Plate commonly used?

High-temperature furnaces & thermal insulation shields

Die-casting molds for aluminum, copper, and steel alloys

Glass melting furnace parts (stirrers, nozzles)

Nuclear reactor shields & heat exchangers

Rocket engine nozzles & aerospace components

Semiconductor & electronic parts

How does TZM compare to pure molybdenum?

30–50% stronger at 1,500°C

Higher recrystallization temperature (1,400°C vs. 1,000°C for pure Mo)

Better creep resistance due to Ti & Zr strengthening

Can TZM Plate be machined and welded?

Yes, it can be:

Machined using carbide or high-speed steel tools (with cooling lubricants).

Welded to other metals like H11 steel.

Cold-worked using standard methods.

How should TZM Plate be stored and handled?

Store in a dry, clean environment to prevent oxidation.

Handle with care to avoid cracks (brittle at low temperatures).

Use protective coatings if exposed to high-temperature oxidizing conditions.
