Features of High Purity Beryllium Foil

 

• Very light and thin: It has a thickness ranging from 0.02 to 0.5 mm. Its density is 1.85g/cm3, making it less dense than Aluminium and stronger than it.

• Very easy to transmit neutrons and X-rays: Neutrons and X-rays can be transmitted 90 percent due to their low atomic number.

• Effective Heat Transmission: 200 w/m*k, which denotes thermal conductivity, making it easy for heat to be transmitted and making it less likely to be deformed.

• Thermal expansion: 11.4*10^(-6)/K, making it similar to silicon and ceramics; it is not easy to break or deform while going through thermal cycling.

• Does not spark or is non-magnetic: Suitable for environments that require a magnetic field as its sparking is μr < 1.001.

• Good surface finish: Fr Lasers, stamp and spot welding, making it easy to process. Surfaces are also easy to finish with Ra ≤ 0.05 μm
