Description of OEM Customized Size Tungsten Carbide Punching Needle
Our OEM customized size tungsten carbide punching needles are made from virgin WC-Co alloy powder. Based on customer specifications, they are spray-dried to obtain uniform particles with a particle size of 1.0-1.5 μm. These particles are then pressed into blanks using a 200 MPa cold isostatic press to ensure uniform density and zero delamination. After a single sintering process at 1500°C in a vacuum furnace, the blanks achieve a density of 14.8-15.1 g/cm³.
Then, they undergo a high-temperature isostatic pressing (HIP) process at 1350°C and 150 MPa to eliminate internal micropores and reduce porosity to below A02 grade. After forming, the needle body undergoes precision grinding: a centerless diamond grinder maintains an outer diameter tolerance of ±0.005 mm, followed by a five-axis CNC grinder to achieve a tip angle of 0°-90°, an R angle of 0.02-0.5 mm, or a stepped multi-stage structure. The surface is fine-ground with a 1500# diamond grinding wheel to a roughness of Ra ≤ 0.1 μm. If a mirror finish is desired, electrolytic polishing is performed to a roughness of Ra ≤ 0.05 μm. The overall hardness of the needle body is HRA ≥ 91.5, and the flexural strength is ≥ 3000 MPa.
