A CNC lathes straight shank tungsten carbide drill bit is a slender rod machined from a single piece of tungsten carbide. It has a dark gray exterior and features fine spiral grooves extending from the tip to the end of the shank. The drill is 150 mm long, with a 100 mm blade and a 50 mm shank. The shank diameter is a standard 10 mm. The straight shank has a chamfered end for easy insertion into a lathe turret or live toolholder. The front end is ground into a double-edged twist pattern, resulting in a sharp cutting edge, deep and uniform spiral grooves, and a smooth, scratch-free groove surface. The entire drill bit is formed in one operation using a five-axis grinder, ensuring concentricity between the cutting edge and the shank, with minimal tolerances.

 

The drill bit is coated with a thin golden titanium aluminum nitride film, less than one-thousandth the thickness of a human hair. The entire drill bit is enclosed in a transparent plastic tube, sealed with a blue rubber stopper, and then covered with a layer of shock-absorbing foam. Finally, it is placed in a white paper box.

The drill utilizes an ultra-fine-grain tungsten carbide (WC) substrate with a hardness of HRA90-93 and wear resistance 5-8 times that of high-speed steel (HSS), ensuring a long-lasting, sharp edge.

An optional TiAlN/AlCrN nano-coating offers high-temperature resistance (above 800°C) and reduces oxidation wear on the cutting edge caused by cutting heat.

The solid carbide construction offers a bending strength of ≥3000 MPa, effectively suppressing machining vibration and ensuring a smooth hole finish (Ra ≤ 1.6 μm).

An internal coolant hole model is available (coolant is delivered directly to the drill tip), solving heat dissipation challenges in deep holes (L/D ≤ 10).

Customized blade profiles, such as flat-bottom and step drills, are available, enabling single-step drilling and chamfering.
