The silver-gray tungsten carbide drill bit is made from two raw materials: 94% tungsten carbide particles and 6% cobalt powder. The powder is first poured into a mold and pressed into a blank using 2,000 tons of pressure. It's then placed in a sintering furnace and fired at 1,400°C until it's impermeable, with a hardness second only to diamond. Once out of the furnace, it's ground on a five-axis grinder to create two symmetrical spiral grooves along the cutting edge. The groove depth and width are laser-measured to within 0.01 mm. It's then coated with a golden-yellow TiAlN film, just

one-thousandth the thickness of a human hair, to reduce heat, prevent sticking, and extend its life.

The drill bit consists of three sections: the front end has a 118-degree sharp angle for positioning; the middle section has two sharp main cutting edges for drilling; and the rear section has a cylindrical straight shank for inserting into a machine tool chuck. The drill bit's surface is mirror-polished, smooth as glass, and even under a microscope, there's not a single crack. Before the entire drill bit leaves the factory, 100 test holes must be drilled on a stainless steel plate. Only when the hole diameter and hole spacing are all qualified can it be installed in a plastic tube and then stuffed into a shock-proof foam box.
