The drill is 200 mm long, with a 150 mm blade length. Diameters are selectable from 6 mm, 8 mm, and 10 mm, with tolerances within 0.01 mm. The surface is coated with a golden titanium aluminum nitride film less than one-thousandth the thickness of a human hair. The entire drill is formed in one operation using a five-axis grinder, resulting in a cutting edge with a rounded edge of ≤2 microns and a smooth, scratch-free spiral groove. Each drill undergoes a dynamic balance test before shipment, ensuring no vibration at 25,000 rpm. A random inspection of 100 deep-hole drills revealed all passed the required hole diameter tolerances. The drill bit is placed in a transparent plastic tube, and the tube is covered with a shock-proof foam cover.
