Description of Titanium Welding Wires

Titanium Welding Wires are mainly used for welding titanium reactors, storage tanks for acidic or alkaline substances, titanium equipment and other titanium materials. They have a series of excellent properties of titanium, such as high specific strength, high mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, light weight, high welding quality, low elastic modulus, and long service life.

For titanium alloys of different thicknesses, the selected welding method is also different. Tungsten inert gas arc welding is usually used for thicknesses below 3 mm, while consumable inert gas arc welding is used for thicknesses above 3 mm.

The Manufacturing Process of Titanium Welding Wires

• Raw materials: Grade 0 titanium sponge + master alloy → Vacuum arc melting (VAR) three times → 1100 ℃ hot rolled coil → Multi-mode cold drawing 0.1–6.0 mm → 650 ℃ vacuum annealing → Online straightening (straightness ≤0.5 mm/m).
• Additional process: Online peeling Ra≤0.8 μm, or electrolytic polishing Ra≤0.2 μm, to improve wire feeding stability.

• Condition: matte pickled, bright annealed, PVD gold/platinum 0.1 μm (for bioelectrodes).
• Packaging: vacuum argon-filled aluminum foil bag + desiccant, roll weight 1–100 kg, shelf life 36 months.

• Hydrogen content: Hot extraction method ≤120 ppm, to prevent hydrogen embrittlement of welds.
