Description of Titanium Disk

Titanium disks are mainly manufactured by smelting or powder metallurgy and are usually divided into two grades of industrial and medical titanium. Common grades of industrial titanium are grade 1, grade 2, and grade 5. There are two common types of medical titanium: Ti-6AL4V and Ti-6AL4VELI.

Titanium Disk is a kind of titanium metal sputtering target material. It has a series of advantages such as high purity, good surface finish, good electrical and thermal conductivity, good impact resistance, strong wear resistance and corrosion resistance, high tensile strength, high coating quality, and good adhesion. It is suitable for manufacturing functional coatings for metal processing and electrical decoration coatings.

Features of Titanium Disk

1. Lightweight and high strength
The density is only 4.5 g/cm³ (about 60% of steel), and the tensile strength is 240-930 MPa (depending on the material), which significantly reduces the weight of the structure.

The specific strength (strength/density ratio) far exceeds that of stainless steel and aluminum alloy.

2. Excellent corrosion resistance
Resistant to seawater, chlorides, acids, and alkalis (such as hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid), the life span in chemical and marine environments is extended by 3-5 times.

Long-term oxidation resistance temperature: pure titanium ≤300℃, Ti-6Al-4V ≤400℃.

3. Biocompatibility (medical grade)
Pure titanium (Gr2/Gr4) and Ti-6Al-4V ELI (Gr23) comply with ASTM F67/F136 and are suitable for human implants.

4. Excellent processing performance
Supports laser cutting, stamping, CNC milling, and the surface can be polished (Ra≤0.8μm) or sandblasted.
