Kovar ASTM F15 pipe are made from Kovar alloy which is typically supplied to meet the requirements of UNS-K-94610, ASTM-F-15, AMS/MIL-I-23011. 

Kovar is known for its low coefficient of thermal expansion. Kovar is suitable for uses which require a matched expansion seal between metal and glass parts. Kovar end uses are usually glass sealing in the electronics industry.

Kovar ASTM F15 pipe is an iron-nickel-cobalt alloy with a coefficient of thermal expansion similar to that of hard (borosilicate) glass. This makes it especially suitable for uses which require a matched-expansion seal between metal and glass parts. Thus kovar finds wide usage in the electronics industry for metal parts bonded to hard glass envelopes for such devices as power tubes, x-ray tubes, etc., and other applications requiring glass-to-metal seals.
