Incoloy 926 Nickel Based tube

Incoloy 926 Nickel Based tube is a high-performance nickel-iron-chromium based super-austenitic stainless steel. It is strengthened by adding elements like molybdenum (Mo), copper (Cu), and nitrogen (N). It has excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. The typical composition of Incoloy 926 Nickel Based tube is: nickel (Ni) 24-26%, chromium (Cr) 19-21%, molybdenum (Mo) 6.0-7.0%, copper (Cu) 0.5-1.5%, nitrogen (N) 0.15-0.25%. Incoloy 926 Nickel Based tube is usually made by cold rolling or hot extrusion. It is used for key equipment in extreme corrosive environments.

Incoloy 926 Nickel Based tube is widely used in marine engineering (seawater desalination, subsea pipelines), chemical industry (reactors, flue gas desulfurization), energy (nuclear power condensers, geothermal systems), and environmental protection (waste incineration, exhaust gas treatment). Its excellent resistance to chloride corrosion, high strength, heat resistance, and weldability make it a key material in extreme corrosive environments. It can effectively replace the more expensive Hastelloy.

Features of Incoloy 926 Nickel Based tube

Excellent Corrosion Resistance:

Incoloy 926 Nickel Based tube has a very strong resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking (SCC), pitting, and crevice corrosion. It performs especially well in environments with chloride ions, acids, or seawater.

It is more resistant to corrosion from inorganic acids like sulfuric and phosphoric acids and organic acids than regular stainless steel (such as 316L).

High Mechanical Strength and Thermal Stability:

Incoloy 926 Nickel Based tube still has good strength at high temperatures. It can work at temperatures from -196°C to 600°C.

The solid solution strengthening from nitrogen in Incoloy 926 Nickel Based tube greatly improves its resistance to creep and fatigue.

Fabrication and Welding:

Incoloy 926 Nickel Based tube can be welded using processes like TIG or laser welding. It doesn't need heat treatment after welding, but the heat input must be controlled to avoid the risk of intergranular corrosion.

Applications of Incoloy 926 Nickel Based tube

Marine and Chemical Fields:

Incoloy 926 Nickel Based tube is often used as heat exchanger tubes in seawater desalination equipment and in subsea pipeline systems to resist saltwater corrosion.

It is also used in chemical reactors and in parts of flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems that are exposed to acid dew point environments.

Energy and Environmental Sectors:

Incoloy 926 Nickel Based tube is used in the tubes of nuclear power condensers and in geothermal fluid transfer pipes to withstand high-temperature, high-pressure corrosive media.

It is used in waste gas treatment equipment in waste-to-energy power plants to deal with acidic gas corrosion.

Special Industrial Scenarios:

Incoloy 926 Nickel Based tube is often used in high-purity medium transfer pipes in the pharmaceutical industry to prevent metal ion contamination.

It is also used in high-sulfur (H₂S) oil well pipes in the oil and gas industry to prevent sulfide stress cracking.
