Products Description
Tungsten products have high melting point, high density, high hardness and are widely used. Since the end of the 19th century, when tungsten was first used to produce alloy steel and hardened steel, its products have reached more than 20 categories, from primary products to deep-processed products, including drill bits, cutting tools, alloys, chemicals, medicines, foods, electronic devices, armor-piercing bullets, etc. Tungsten has become one of the irreplaceable materials in modern industrial society.
Tungsten is one of Nonferrous Metals, and also it is as molybdenum and rare earth which are Refractory Metals, in the modern industrial time, it is the most important Strategic Metals for IT industrial and military industrial.
Materials: Pure W 99.95% min, W-Ni-Cu, W-Cu, W-Ni-Fe
Features & applications
Features
High Melting Point and Heat Resistance:
Tungsten has a melting point over 3000°F, which is the highest of all metals. As a result, tungsten precision machined parts remain stable in high-temperature environments without deforming or breaking. For example, they perform well in aerospace engine components as well as rocket nozzles.
High Hardness and Wear Resistance:
Tungsten is extremely hard, being second only to diamond. Because of this, tungsten precision machined parts have excellent wear resistance, so they can withstand high-load and high-friction conditions for long periods. For instance, they are used in cutting tools and molds.
High Density and Miniaturization Advantage:
Tungsten has a high density, meaning it takes up less space for the same weight. Therefore, it is ideal for applications that require high mass or inertia in limited space, such as aerospace counterweights or high-performance automotive balancing weights.
Good Corrosion Resistance:
Tungsten resists many chemicals, and thus it maintains stable performance in harsh environments. This makes it suitable for special industrial uses, including critical parts in chemical equipment.
Low Thermal Expansion:
Tungsten's thermal expansion rate is similar to glass, so it ensures good sealing and dimensional stability when used with glass. That's why it is often used in electronic device packaging.
Applications
Aerospace Industry:
Tungsten is used to make rocket engine nozzles, high-temperature furnace parts, and aircraft counterweights. For example, rocket nozzles must withstand extreme heat and pressure, so tungsten's high melting point and strength make it an ideal material.
Medical Industry:
Tungsten is used in X-ray machine anodes, radiation shielding, and surgical tools. Because of its high density and biocompatibility, tungsten effectively blocks radiation, protecting both patients and medical staff.
Automotive Industry:
Tungsten is applied in high-temperature engine parts, high-performance fuel injection systems, and balancing weights. In particular, its hardness and wear resistance ensure long-term stability in high-pressure fuel injection systems.
Electronics Industry:
Tungsten serves as wiring material in semiconductor manufacturing and heat-dissipation components. Due to its good conductivity and thermal stability, it plays a key role in high-performance electronic devices.
Military and Defense:
Tungsten is used in armor-piercing bullets, missile components, and protective armor. Thanks to its high density and hardness, tungsten is perfect for armor-piercing projectiles, as it can penetrate enemy defenses effectively.
FAQ
Are you a factory or manufacturer?
A: Yes, we are a factory but generally, we use our trading company to handle the business abroad. It will be convenient to receive the remittance and arrange the shipment.
What is the delivery method?
A: Generally, we send cargo by UPS, DHL or FedEx. Also, we can send by sea to seaport or by air to the closest airport.
Why is your product so cost-effective?
A: We cut out the middlemen in the end-to-end manufacturing process. Rather than obtaining semi-finished goods from other suppliers, we obtain our raw material of APT powder directly from its source.
Do you do spot quality inspection or full inspection?
A: 100% full inspection. Inspectors will check the finished product individually, to ensure they adhere to all parameters. All unqualified products are discarded.
How do you ensure your lead time?
A: We have an efficient Order Management System, from material preparation to machining, and finally to a full inspection. Every stage of production is strictly monitored and controlled to give you an accurate delivery time.
What is the MOQ of Tungsten Precision Machined Parts?
A: Depends on quantity, generally, no MOQ limit.
How to pay for it?
A: A bank transfer (T/T) will be acceptable.
What is the delivery time?
A: around 7-20 days which depends on the quantity and production.
What is kind of the package?
A: Generally, we use a carton case or plywood case with protective material inside to ensure the save of cargo
What is the lead time?
A: from order placed to cargo receiving will take around 10-25 days.
What exactly is tungsten steel? Why is it so expensive?
Tungsten steel is a super metal that's much harder than regular steel and can withstand extreme heat (won't melt even at 3000°C+). It's pricey because the raw materials are rare and it's difficult to process, but it lasts much longer than ordinary materials.
Why choose tungsten steel specifically?
Three super abilities:
① Extreme heat resistance (won't melt when a grill would)
② Super wear-resistant (won't deform even after 10 years)
③ Ultra-high density (small but surprisingly heavy)
Is it hard to machine?
Extremely hard! Regular machines can't handle it. We use:
☑️ Diamond-coated cutting tools
☑️ Precision wire cutting
☑️ 5-axis CNC machines
That's why machining costs more than for regular metals.
Will it rust?
Won't rust in daily use, though may oxidize slightly if exposed to open flame for long periods. Normally lasts decades without issues.
What precision can be achieved?
Up to 1/10th of a hair's width (0.005mm), but higher precision means higher cost. 0.05mm is usually sufficient for regular uses.
Why do prices vary so much between suppliers?
Main differences:
❗ Material purity (military-grade vs industrial-grade)
❗ Machining precision (regular vs precision machines cost 10x difference)
❗ Whether quality reports are included
