In late 2022, Yiwu Yitech Trading Co., Ltd. was the first Chinese exporter of advanced TCN799 tungsten alloy collimators to the UAE. These collimators are used in the UAE's emerging, first-of-its-kind, industrial Non-destructive Testing (NDT) industry. This was the first step in Yiwu Yitech's export of first-tier industrial materials and components and advancing the company's international business to the Middle East.
TCN799 tungsten alloy collimators are key components of all industrial NDT systems. They are designed to accurately aim and attenuate the various interrogation radiation (X-rays and gamma rays) used in the systems to ensure the test is void of any extraneous radiation, thus resulting in a pure and accurate test. It is used in the safety and performance evaluation of critical (high-risk) infrastructures in the petrochemical, aerospace, and civil construction industries. These sectors experience high traffic and a high level of risk. With high density and strong radiation shielding, the collimators perform well and are critical in the quality assurance programs of these industries.
