Description of Tungsten Heavy Alloy Strip
Compared with pure tungsten, Tungsten Heavy Alloy Strip has high cost performance, high toughness and easy cutting. It can be directly made by liquid phase sintering. The common composition combination is 93W-4.9Ni-2.1Fe and 95W-3.5Ni-1.5Fe.
Tungsten Heavy Alloy Strip have high elastic modulus, small size, light weight, high hardness, good high temperature resistance and wear resistance, good impact resistance, high tensile strength, high radiation adsorption capacity (such as gamma ray, X ray and gamma rays) and long service life.
The Manufacturing Process of Tungsten Heavy Alloy Strip
• Powder route: -325 mesh W powder + pre-alloyed Ni/Fe powder → cold isostatic pressing 200 MPa → 1450 ℃ liquid phase sintering → 1200 ℃ multi-pass warm rolling → vacuum annealing 800 ℃, grain size ASTM 7-9
• Foil limit: warm rolling can be as thin as 0.01 mm, online laser thickness closed-loop control ±0.001 mm; Ra≤0.2 μm after cold rolling.
Surface and Functionalization of Tungsten Heavy Alloy Strip
• Standard: polishing Ra≤0.1 μm; electrolytic polishing and laser marking are possible.
• Coating: PVD TiAlN 0.5 μm, 700 ℃ anti-oxidation weight loss reduced by 60%; electroplating Ni 2 μm improves brazing performance.
• Laser micro-hole: 0.05-0.2 mm through-hole array for inertial measurement unit balancing.

Moreover, because tungsten heavy alloy materials are non-toxic and environmentally friendly, they are widely used as salvage boats, weights, boring bars and fixtures.

Testing and Quality Control of Tungsten Heavy Alloy Strip
• Dimensions: width 3-600 mm, thickness 0.01-0.3 mm, tolerance ±1 % (≤0.1 mm)
• Non-destructive: UT + eddy current, inclusion equivalent ≤Φ50 μm; EN 10204-3.1 report attached to each roll.
• Performance: tensile 800-1500 MPa (strengthened by deformation), HV 250-350, -196 ℃ impact ≥25 J.
