Our company supplies the Gr5 Titanium Round Bar in Ti6Al4V Eli Grade 23 according to standard ASTM F136, ASTM F1472, and ISO 5832. This material is wrought Titanium-6Aluminum-4Vanadium ELI (Extra LowInterstitial) Alloy for Surgical Implant Applications (UNSR56401).

Titanium Grade 5 (titanium-aluminium-vanadium alloy) is among the most widely used alpha-beta titanium alloys, accounting for 50% of total titanium used globally. One of the prominent properties of Titanium Grade 5 is that it is entirely heat treatable and can be used for temperatures up to 400°C. It combines low density (4.43 kg/dm) with outstanding corrosion resistance and good mechanical strength.

Titanium Grade 5 has excellent tensile properties at room temperature and has good creep resistance up to 300°C. It also exhibits excellent resistance against crack propagation and fatigue.

The age-hardening ability of Titanium Grade 5 makes it a perfect choice for various applications, including fasteners and springs. It has a wide range of industrial applications due to its good machinability and weldability.

Manufacturing process of Gr5 Titanium Round Bar

• Raw materials: Grade 0 titanium sponge + Al-V alloy → three vacuum consumable arc furnace (VAR) → 1100 ℃ multi-directional forging → finishing rolling → 650 ℃ vacuum annealing, grain size ASTM 7-9.
• Large specifications (Φ200-400 mm) use ring rolling + bulging to reduce welds and improve fatigue life.

Testing and Quality Control of Gr5 Titanium Round Bar

• Size: diameter 1–400 mm, tolerance h9–h11; straightness ≤0.5 mm/m; UT+C-Scan flaw detection for each piece, defect equivalent ≤Φ0.8 mm.
• Surface: machining Ra≤1.6 μm, centerless grinding Ra≤0.4 μm, electrolytic polishing Ra≤0.1 μm, to meet different cleanliness requirements.
