Monel K-500 straight weld wires

Monel K-500 straight weld wires are a nickel-copper alloy welding material. They are designed for welding, cladding, and repairing Monel K-500 alloy. The wires have the same composition as the base material (nickel 63-70%, copper 27-33%, with added aluminum and titanium for strengthening). They are made into straight wires with uniform diameter by cold drawing. They are suitable for TIG (gas tungsten arc welding) and MIG (gas metal arc welding) processes. They ensure the weld strength and corrosion resistance match the base material.

Features of Monel K-500 straight weld wires

Excellent Corrosion Resistance

Monel K-500 straight weld wires have the ability to resist corrosion from seawater, acids (like sulfuric acid and hydrofluoric acid), and alkaline media. They come from Monel alloy. They can be used in tough environments.

High Strength and Wear Resistance

Monel K-500 straight weld wires are treated by aging (aluminum/titanium precipitation strengthening). The tensile strength of the weld can reach over 1000 MPa. It is better than that of ordinary nickel-copper alloys.

Good Weldability

Monel K-500 straight weld wires are designed as straight wires. This makes wire feeding stable. The arc is focused. There is less spatter. The weld seam is dense. It reduces the tendency for porosity and cracking.

High-Temperature Stability

Monel K-500 straight weld wires can keep their mechanical properties when used for a long time below 400°C. They can also endure short-term exposure to 800°C.

Applications of Monel K-500 straight weld wires

Marine Engineering

Monel K-500 straight weld wires are used to weld parts like seawater pump shafts, valves, and propeller components. They resist corrosion from salt spray and microbes.

Petrochemical Industry

Monel K-500 straight weld wires are used to repair reactors and heat exchanger tubes. They can endure corrosion from hydrogen sulfide and acidic oil and gas.

Aerospace

Monel K-500 straight weld wires are used to make fuel system components and fasteners. They meet the requirement of high strength-to-weight ratio.

Nuclear Power Field

Monel K-500 straight weld wires are used for seal welding in nuclear fuel processing equipment. They can resist radiation degradation.
