Hastelloy B3 square plate
Hastelloy B3 square plate is a nickel-molybdenum alloy plate. It is made into a square shape by hot rolling or cold rolling. It has excellent formability and weldability.
The standard thickness range of Hastelloy B3 square plate is 0.5 mm to 50 mm. The common side length specifications are from 500 mm × 500 mm to 2000 mm × 2000 mm. It can be customized. The surface can be provided with acid washing, sandblasting, or polishing.
Hastelloy B3 square plate is used in highly corrosive environments. These include chemical hydrochloric acid reactors, flue gas desulfurization scrubbers, and pharmaceutical equipment. It can withstand high-temperature acid media and stress corrosion.
The optimized weldability and thermal stability of Hastelloy B3 square plate greatly extend the life of components. It is especially suitable for complex structures that need multiple welds. It is more reliable and efficient than traditional alloys.
Features of Hastelloy B3 square plate
Corrosion resistance: Hastelloy B3 square plate is designed for reducing environments. It performs excellently in strong acids like hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and phosphoric acid. It is much better than traditional nickel-based alloys at resisting pitting and stress corrosion cracking.
Thermal stability: Hastelloy B3 square plate has low carbon content (≤0.01%) and molybdenum (27-32%). These work together to stop sigma phase from forming at high temperatures (below 400℃). This keeps its structure stable.
Mechanical properties: It has a typical tensile strength of at least 760 MPa and a yield strength of at least 350 MPa. Hastelloy B3 square plate is strong and can be shaped by cold working. It is good for stamping and bending.

Applications of Hastelloy B3 square plate
Chemical equipment: Hastelloy B3 square plate is used to make evaporators and reactor liners in hydrochloric acid regeneration systems. In hot hydrochloric acid with a concentration of at least 20%, it lasts more than 10 times longer than ordinary stainless steel.
Environmental engineering: In flue gas desulfurization (FGD) units, it is used for scrubber internals. It can resist corrosive slurries with chloride ions and sulfides.
Pharmaceutical industry: It is used for reaction vessels that make high-purity drugs under GMP standards. It releases very few metal ions (meeting the ASME BPE standard).
