Products Description

Molybdenum-tungsten (Mo-W) alloy plates are a type of composite material that combines the elements molybdenum (Mo) and tungsten (W). Both elements are known for their high melting points, excellent thermal conductivity, and strong mechanical properties, making the Mo-W alloy a material of choice for applications that demand high-temperature stability and resistance to thermal shock.

Features of Molybdenum-Tungsten Alloy Plates:

- High Melting Point: Molybdenum and tungsten both have extremely high melting points, with tungsten having the highest melting point of any element at approximately 3422°C (6192°F), and molybdenum at about 2623°C (4763°F). The Mo-W alloy inherits this property, making it suitable for high-temperature environments.

- Thermal Conductivity: The combination of Mo and W results in an alloy with very good thermal conductivity, which is beneficial for applications that require efficient heat transfer.

- Mechanical Strength: Mo-W alloys are known for their high strength and resistance to deformation at high temperatures, which makes them valuable for structural applications in extreme conditions.

- Ductility: Although tungsten is relatively brittle, molybdenum is more ductile, and the alloy can have a balance of these properties, providing some degree of formability while maintaining strength.

- Corrosion Resistance: The Mo-W alloy also exhibits good resistance to corrosion, particularly in environments where oxidation is a concern.

Applications of Molybdenum-Tungsten Alloy Plates:

1

Aerospace: Components in rocket engines and other high-temperature aerospace applications where the material can withstand extreme conditions.

2

Nuclear Industry: Mo-W alloys can be used in nuclear reactors due to their ability to withstand high temperatures and radiation.

3

Electronic Packaging: High-power electronic devices that generate significant heat may use Mo-W plates for heat sinks and heat spreaders.

4

Industrial Heating: Furnaces and other industrial heating equipment can benefit from the use of Mo-W alloys in parts that are directly exposed to high temperatures.

5

Metalworking: The alloy can be used in the production of metalworking tools and dies that require high-temperature resistance and wear resistance.
