Products Description

Tungsten copper alloy is an alloy composed of tungsten and copper. Commonly used tungsten copper alloys contain 10% to 50% copper. The alloy is prepared by powder metallurgy, which has good electrical and thermal conductivity, good high-temperature strength, and certain plasticity. Copper Tungsten combines the properties of both metals, resulting in a material that is heat-resistant, ablation-resistant, highly thermally and electrically conductive, and easy to machine.Parts are made from the CuW composite by pressing the tungsten particles into the desired shape, sintering the compacted part, then infiltrating with molten copper.

W60Cu40, W75Cu25, and W80Cu20 tungsten-copper electrodes are widely used in EDM (electrical discharge machining), resistance welding, aerospace, and electronic devices. With their high melting point, excellent conductivity, wear resistance, and low thermal expansion coefficient, they are ideal materials for manufacturing complex molds, high-temperature components, and precision electronic parts.

Sheets, rods, and bars of the composite mixture are available as well.Machined copper tungsten alloy parts are our advantage, We can produce high-density, complex size and specification tungsten-copper electrical contacts according to customer's drawings and requirements.

Features

High Melting Point and Strength: Tungsten has a very high melting point, so these electrodes can stay stable in high-temperature environments without melting or deforming.

Good Conductivity and Thermal Conductivity: The addition of copper improves the alloy's electrical and thermal conductivity, allowing it to efficiently transfer current and heat during EDM (electrical discharge machining).

Low Thermal Expansion: Tungsten-copper alloy has a low thermal expansion rate, meaning it keeps its shape well even under temperature changes.

Wear and Corrosion Resistance: This alloy is hard and wear-resistant, making it durable against arc erosion in EDM.

Machinability: It can be easily machined into electrodes of different shapes and sizes.

Applications

EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining): W60Cu40, W75Cu25, and W80Cu20 copper-tungsten electrodes are widely used in EDM to produce complex molds and parts. Their high melting point and good conductivity help them last longer during the machining process.

Resistance Welding: These electrodes are also suitable for resistance welding because they can handle high currents and extreme heat.

Aerospace: In the aerospace industry, tungsten-copper alloy electrodes are used to make engine components and high-temperature equipment.

Electronics: Thanks to their excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, these electrodes work well as contacts and electrodes in electronic devices.

FAQ

Are you a factory or manufacturer?

A: Yes, we are a factory but generally, we use our trading company to handle the business abroad. It will be convenient to receive the remittance and arrange the shipment.

What is the delivery method?

A: Generally, we send cargo by UPS, DHL or FedEx. Also, we can send by sea to seaport or by air to the closest airport.

Why is your product so cost-effective?

A: We cut out the middlemen in the end-to-end manufacturing process. Rather than obtaining semi-finished goods from other suppliers, we obtain our raw material of APT powder directly from its source.

Do you do spot quality inspection or full inspection?

A: 100% full inspection. Inspectors will check the finished product individually, to ensure they adhere to all parameters. All unqualified products are discarded.

How do you ensure your lead time?

A: We have an efficient Order Management System, from material preparation to machining, and finally to a full inspection. Every stage of production is strictly monitored and controlled to give you an accurate delivery time.

What is the MOQ of W60Cu40 W75Cu25 W80Cu20 Copper Tungsten Electrodes?

A: Depends on quantity, generally, no MOQ limit.

How to pay for it?

A: A bank transfer (T/T) will be acceptable.

What is the delivery time?

A: around 7-20 days which depends on the quantity and production.

What is kind of the package?

A: Generally, we use a carton case or plywood case with protective material inside to ensure the save of cargo

What is the lead time?

A: from order placed to cargo receiving will take around 10-25 days.

What are W60Cu40, W75Cu25, and W80Cu20 electrodes used for?

These tungsten-copper (W-Cu) electrodes are mainly used in:

EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) – for making precision molds and parts.

Resistance Welding – as durable tips for spot and seam welding.

Aerospace & High-Tech – in engines and high-temperature components.

Electronics – as contacts and heat sinks due to their good conductivity.

Why choose tungsten-copper electrodes for EDM?

High melting point – resists heat and lasts longer.

Good conductivity – improves machining speed and precision.

Low wear – maintains shape even after repeated use.

Are these electrodes good for welding?

Yes! They handle high currents well and resist heat, making them ideal for resistance welding electrodes.

Can tungsten-copper electrodes be machined into custom shapes?

Yes, they can be cut, drilled, or ground into different sizes and forms for specific needs.

How does the copper content affect performance?

More copper (e.g., W60Cu40) = Better conductivity but slightly lower heat resistance.

More tungsten (e.g., W80Cu20) = Higher heat resistance but slightly lower conductivity.

Do these electrodes corrode easily?

No, they have good corrosion resistance, making them durable in harsh conditions.
