Tungsten Copper Wheel Electrode can allow more concentrated spark and continuous EDM, suitable for welding materials such as silver, copper, aluminum, stainless steel mesh and barbed wire. Because copper and copper alloy electrodes are not resistant to spark ablation, the electrode consumption is large and the processing accuracy is poor. With the continuous increase of mold precision and the consumption of many difficult-to-machine material parts, as well as the increasingly mature EDM process, the use of tungsten copper materials as EDM electrodes is increasing day by day.
Feature Of Tungsten Copper Wheel Electrode
1. Resistance to Acute Temperatures. The electrical and thermal tungsten softens very little (< 5% volumetric change) and does not melt significantly at up to 700ºC. Its ability to withstand breathtaking temperatures like the peak melting point of 3410ºC is due to daunting spark processing, high-temperature cutting, and electric grinding, all of which shed volume without modifying it.
2. Thermal Conductivity. Unlike other copper bronzes, the welding tungsten copper wheel electrode is distinguished by its thermal and electrical conductivity . This exceptional property minimises overheating, reduces discharge machining electrode damage, and improves efficiency.
3. Wear Resistance. Wear and deformation of the tungsten copper wheel electrode under rotational and axial impacts along with hydrodynamic stress of high specific strength remain minimal providing endurance. Precision rotation and high speed induce weak but extensive pervasive deformation resulting in softening of the material, due to the high strength characteristics of tungsten.
4. Stability. A combination of low coefficient of thermal expansion properties of tungsten with its rate of elongation at yield temperature renders the desired dimensional stability at rotor stability during heightened temperatures.
