Hastelloy B2 Nickel Based tube is a nickel-molybdenum (Ni-Mo) based high-temperature alloy tube. It is designed for extremely reducing corrosive environments. The tube is mainly composed of nickel (about 65%) and molybdenum (about 28%), with a small amount of iron, chromium and other elements. The low carbon optimization has significantly improved its resistance to intergranular corrosion. It is usually made by cold rolling or hot extrusion and can be provided in seamless or welded forms. It is suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure applications, such as chemical equipment and reactor piping.

Features of Hastelloy B2 Nickel Based tube

 

Excellent corrosion resistance

Hastelloy B2 Nickel Based tube performs well in reducing acid media such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid. It has almost no substitute in high-temperature concentrated hydrochloric acid environments.

Hastelloy B2 Nickel Based tube has outstanding resistance to localized corrosion, like pitting and stress corrosion cracking. It is better than common stainless steel.

High-temperature stability

Hastelloy B2 Nickel Based tube can work stably for a long time below 400°C. It can bear higher temperatures like 600°C for a short time. But it should avoid oxidative environments. Its low chromium content limits its oxidation resistance.

Fabrication and welding properties

Hastelloy B2 Nickel Based tube needs low heat input welding techniques such as TIG welding. It is suggested to do solution treatment after welding to eliminate the sensitization risk in the heat-affected zone.

Hastelloy B2 Nickel Based tube has a significant tendency to work hardening during cold working. Forming should be combined with intermediate annealing.
