Products Description
Tungsten heavy alloys material formed by adding a small amount of Ni, Fe, Cu, Co, Mo, Cr and other elements into tungsten (generally with the content of 80%~98%) serving as the basis. High-specific-gravity tungsten alloy has the density of 15.20~18.70g/cm3, and is also called high-specific-gravity alloy or high-density alloy material by people. High-specific-gravity tungsten alloy is mainly divided into two series, W-Ni-Fe (weakly magnetic) and W-Ni-Cu (non-magnetic) even W-Ni-Fe-Cu.
By comparison, W-Ni-Fe alloy has a higher mechanical property and plays a great role in the national defence industry and various fields of national economy, is a very important military new material in the national defence industry, and is gradually generalized to all the civil industries.
Features
High Density:
W90, W95, and W97 alloys have a high density, making them suitable for applications that require strict density standards.
High Strength & Toughness:
These alloys are very hard (up to 35 HRC) and also ductile (elongation between 1% and 20%). This means they remain stable even under high stress and impact.
Good Corrosion Resistance:
Thanks to their composition, W90, W95, and W97 alloys resist corrosion well in various environments.
Customizability:
They can be tailored to customer needs, including size, shape, and surface finish.
Applications
Aerospace Applications:
These alloys are used in aircraft parts, such as wing rotors, because their high density and strength meet the strict requirements of aerospace equipment.
Radiation Shielding:
Due to their high density and shielding properties, they are ideal for making radiation protection containers, such as those for radioactive isotopes (e.g., cobalt-60).
Military Uses:
They are used in armor-piercing projectiles because their hardness and density allow them to penetrate armored targets effectively.
Industrial Applications:
They are widely used in high-temperature furnace parts, semiconductor bases, electron tube components, and X-ray diagnostic targets.

FAQ
Are you a factory or manufacturer?
A: Yes, we are a factory but we generally use our trading company to handle the business abroad. It will be more convenient to receive the remittance and arrange the shipment.
What is the delivery method?
A: Generally, we send cargo by UPS, DHL or FedEx. Also, we can send by sea to seaport or by air to the closest airport.
Why is your product so cost-effective?
A: We cut out the middlemen in the end-to-end manufacturing process and we obtain raw material directly from its source.
Do you do spot quality inspection or full inspection?
A: 100% full inspection for sure. All unqualified products are discarded.
How do you ensure your lead time?
A: From material preparation to machining and finally to a full inspection. Every stage of production is strictly monitored and controlled to give you an accurate delivery time.
What is the MOQ of W90 W95 W97 Tungsten Nickel Iron Alloys WNiFe Plate ?
A: Depends on quantity, generally, no MOQ limit.
How to pay for it?
A: A bank transfer (T/T) will be acceptable.
What is the delivery time?
A: around 7-20 days which depends on the quantity and production.
What is kind of the package?
A: Generally, we use a carton case or plywood case with protective material inside to ensure the save of cargo
What is the lead time?
A: from order placed to cargo receiving will take around 10-25 days.
What are W90, W95, and W97 alloys?
They are high-density tungsten-nickel-iron (WNiFe) alloys containing 90%, 95%, and 97% tungsten, respectively, with nickel and iron as binding metals.
Where are these alloys commonly used?
Applications include aerospace components, radiation shielding, military armor-piercing projectiles, and high-temperature industrial parts.
Why choose WNiFe alloys over pure tungsten?
Unlike brittle pure tungsten, WNiFe alloys are machinable, more ductile, and easier to fabricate while maintaining high density.
How do W90, W95, and W97 differ?
The main difference is tungsten content:
W90: 90% W (better machinability, slightly lower density).
W95: 95% W (balanced density and strength).
W97: 97% W (highest density, best for radiation shielding).
Are these alloys corrosion-resistant?
Yes, they resist oxidation and corrosion better than pure tungsten, making them suitable for harsh environments.
Can these alloys be machined or welded?
Yes, they are machinable (though harder than steel) and can be welded using specialized techniques.
Are they toxic or radioactive?
No, they are non-toxic and non-radioactive. However, tungsten dust should be handled with care during machining.
What sizes and shapes are available?
They come as plates, rods, sheets, and custom parts, with thicknesses and dimensions tailored to requirements.
How do they compare to lead for radiation shielding?
They provide better shielding at thinner thicknesses due to higher density and are non-toxic, unlike lead.
What are the temperature limits?
They withstand high temperatures (up to 1000°C+) but may oxidize above 500°C without protective coatings.
