Description of CO120 Stellite 20 Ball
CO120 Stellite 20 balls are made of a cobalt-chromium-tungsten-molybdenum casting alloy that is melted and then hot isostatically pressed. The surface is continuously fine-ground by a centerless grinder and electrochemically polished to present a uniform metallic bright silver color with no plating or repair welding marks. It can maintain consistent color in high-temperature and high-corrosion environments. Product styles include smooth balls, through-hole balls and internal threaded balls: Smooth balls cover eleven diameters of 3 mm, 4 mm, 5 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm, 14 mm, 16 mm, 18 mm and 20 mm, with tolerance grade G10, roundness ≤0.5 µm and surface roughness Ra≤0.025 µm; through-hole balls have a concentric through hole at the center of the ball, with three optional hole diameters of 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm and 2.0 mm, and a hole chamfer of R0.2 mm for easy threading or positioning; internal threaded balls have M2, M3 and M4 fine pitch threads machined on one side of the ball, with a thread depth of 3 mm and a 0.5 mm undercut at the bottom, allowing for quick engagement with screws of the same material.
Features of CO120 Stellite 20 Ball
Extreme wear resistance: This alloy stack is tailored to blunt the sharp damage wrought by sub-millimeter, ferritic abrasives, routinely surpassing monolayer composites and cemented carbide graders when subjected to grinding, creeping, and thermal shock wear.
Extreme stability beyond rated heat: Structural integrity, compositional registry, optical and X-ray diffraction, and quoted hardness all survive cycles to and beyond repeated Ba and S stranding at over 800 °C.
Extreme vibrational shock modulation: Cobalt-based alloys have a certain toughness and can withstand certain impact loads without breaking.
Applications of CO120 Stellite 20 Ball
In valve-ball assemblies, the component performs continuous rotation, sliding along the hardened valve seat, all under the influence of sustained temperature, pressure, and aggressive chemical environments, alongside particulate erosion from the entrained solids. That combination demands metallurgy of extraordinary discipline. The CO120 grade is satisfied by assuring sealed integrity and sustained cycle life. Applications across aviation and turbocharger fuel nozzles, hydraulic seals, and extreme-performance valve stack parts express the grade's worth, snugging into geometries and service environments where thermal and mechanical forces never relent.

Precautions for using CO120 Stellite 20 balls
1. The sphere is hard but brittle and may crack if struck or dropped. It is recommended to use nylon or brass tooling during assembly to avoid direct impact with a hammer.
2. When mating with dissimilar metals, insulating gaskets must be added to prevent galvanic corrosion. When components are submerged in seawater for several months, check the protective oxide layer once every half-year, as a preventive measure.
3. In environments where temperatures can spike, ensure the peak surface temperature stays below 800°C immediately; for stable service, a steady thermal limit under 600°C is advisable to deter both carbide growth and the associated brittleness.
4. For prolonged storage, position the spheres in a controlled, air-circulated space where humidity remains under 60%, shielding them from any vapor with either acidic or alkaline content. They are transported in individual anti-static plastic capsules, with 50 capsules sealed in a protective shipping carton.
